WHY DOGS SMELL PRIVATE PARTS OF HUMANS
Dogs usually spend the fist new minutes, sniffing each other’s private parts when they meet.
This is a way of learning about a new animal, they sniff to detect whether a dog is male or female and whether they have been around other animals or not. They usually do similar routine when they meet new people by sniffing around the crotch. This can be uncomfortable and irritable behavior. It can as well lead to dog bite for one who is not experienced with dogs.
To prevent your dog from sniffing people’s private places put him in a leash when you are expecting visitors.Use the “leave” command and jerk on the leash if he tries nosing around what you don’t want him to do. Follow the “leave it with a sit command. If your dog sniffs you in a way unacceptable to you, just move forward into him saying No in a strong, clear voice. You can then offer him a substitute item such as a toy to divert his interest and then reward him for leaving you alone.
